MEDINA/GOUVERNEUR – Howard C. Dennee, II "Bud", age 59, of Medina and formerly of Gouverneur, passed away on August 29, 2025 at Sitrin Health Care Center in Utica.

At his request, there will be no formal service. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Gouverneur VFW on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home in Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com. Cards may be sent to Laura Denne at 5 Westfield Drive, Medina NY 14103.

Howard "Bud" was born on September 2, 1965 in Gouverneur to the late Howard Curtis Dennee Sr. and Lucinda Irene (Klock) Dennee. He graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1983 and served in the United States Navy from March 1984 until his honorable discharge in 1988.

He starting working for New York Telephone in 1989 and retired in 2015 from Verizon. Bud enjoyed racing in the 1990's. He bought a Late Model and raced at the Can-Am Speedway. Bud was an avid Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan. He enjoyed going to the Bills football games as often as possible. Later, after retiring, he and his wife did a lot of traveling and cruising.

On November 9, 1984 he married Laura Ashley. They have two children, Natasha (Eric) Ewing of Medina, and Nathan Dennee of Lockport, five grandchildren, Hayleigh (Charles) Sandoval, Hayden Ewing, Hayla Ewing, Easton Dennee, and Heavenly Dennee, and one great-granddaughter, Evelyn Sandoval. He is also survived by two sisters, Vonnie Dennee and Connie Wilmet, his father-in-law, Richard Ashley, Sr., along with several nieces and nephews.

Bud is predeceased by his parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Roxann Klock, and his mother-in-law, Geraldine Ashley.
