Howard "Skip" J. Jordan, born on January 13, 1951, in Buffalo, New York, passed away on July 16, 2025, in Byron, Georgia. Services and celebrations of his remarkable life are planned for Friday, August 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Skip's spirit will continue to tickle our funny bones and inspire our lives for years to come.

Skip graduated from Maryvale High School in 1969, but he really earned his education in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served from 1977 until his retirement in 1992. His travels took him around the globe-from Korea to Japan, through the deserts of Desert Storm, and various bases across Texas, New York, and Georgia. Skip's time at Robins Air Force Base left an indelible mark on his life, not just for the experiences he gained but also for the friendships he forged along the way. Skip was a true original-a man who could make a joke out of any situation while skillfully untangling a bicycle chain or fixing a stubborn car. Known for his loyalty and humor, he took great pleasure in bringing laughter and warmth to everyone around him.

In addition to his distinguished military career, Skip found joy in the simple things: tinkering with anything mechanical, which was both a hobby and a superpower. Whether it was fixing bicycles for his sons, Jacob and Aaron, or helping his stepsons, James, Joseph, and Danny, Skip's hands were always busy, and his heart was always full. He had a particular soft spot for his granddaughter, Stephanie, who dutifully called him "honey." The bond they shared was a gift not just to them but to all who witnessed their sweet interactions.

Skip was married to Laura on December 6, 2002, and their love story was full of laughter, unwavering support, and companionship. Until the very end, Laura remained Skip's confidante and nurturer, a true partner in every sense. Together, they crafted a life filled with love, laughter, and the occasional mischief, which is something Skip wouldn't have it any other way.

Skip is survived by his beloved wife, Laura, and his devoted sisters, Cheryl Jordan Haney, Thompson Ismael, and Nancy Jordan Blackmore. He leaves behind his two sons, Jacob Jordan and Aaron Jordan, his stepsons, James Mann, Joseph Mann, and Danny Culberson, as well as his cherished granddaughter, Stephanie Culberson.

While the fanfare may fade, the memories and laughter that Howard "Skip" J. Jordan leaves behind will remain etched in the hearts of those who loved him.
