Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 PM, Saturday, March 01, 2025 at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Howard J. Morris, 85, who passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Calcutta House.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 AM on Saturday.
Pastor Darren Benoit will officiate at the funeral service.
Burial will follow at a later date.
Howard was born on July 13, 1939, in Lafayette. He worked at the sugar mill majority of his life to support his family. He was a proud and loving father, grandfather, great, and great-great grandfather. Beyond his work, Howard found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed hunting, cheering for his favorite sports teams, and horse racing. He cherished moments spent playing cards with friends and family, often filled with laughter. Howard also had a love for dancing and bringing joy to others. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his children, Allison, Melissa, Ronald, Taylor, Johnny, Rita, Lailor, Dedra, Lionel (Yvette), James, and Howard, Jr.; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles Morris and Paul Morris.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Gussie Charles Morris; wife, Augustine Morris; companion, Alosia Williams; and siblings, Horace Morris, Rita Brown, Corrine Morris, and Emily Johnson.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
