Howard Felton Sanders, a beacon of joy and generosity, passed away on January 20 2025, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 74. Born on October 30, 1950, in Monroe, Louisiana, Howard's journey through life was marked by his profound sense of community and an unwavering commitment to uplifting those around him.

Howard dedicated much of his career as a retired facility supervisor for the Dallas Independent School District, where he touched the lives of countless students and colleagues. His infectious spirit resonated within the school halls, echoing the principles of his beloved theme song, "If I Can Help Somebody," which served as a testament to his life's mission. He was known for never meeting a stranger, and his gift of gab made him a friend to all. Humor flowed effortlessly from his lips, as if it were a natural extension of his being; Howard cherished the moments he made others laugh.

Education was a significant pillar in Howard's life. He pursued and obtained his associate degree from Dallas Community College, proudly honored as a member of Phi Theta Kappa. This accomplishment, achieved later in life, stands as a tribute to his belief in lifelong learning and the pursuit of knowledge.

Beyond his professional achievements, Howard was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Doris Taylor, who stood firmly beside him through the ebb and flow of life. His daughters, Adanta Ugo and Chinyere Ugo, along with his son Christopher Thompson, carry forward his legacy, nurtured by the wisdom and love he imparted. Howard's spirit lives on vibrantly through his host of grandchildren and his lodge brothers, all of whom were enriched by his warmth and mentorship.

In addition to spending time with family, Howard found joy in reading, cooking, and engaging in lively debates. He had a knack for turning mundane moments into lively discussions, encouraging others to express their thoughts and feelings. His passion for mentoring young individuals helped shape the lives of many, making him a cherished figure in the community.

Howard Felton Sanders will be deeply missed and remembered not just for what he accomplished, but for how he made those around him feel. His services will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, with viewing on January 30, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a wake service at 7:15 PM. A funeral service honoring his remarkable life will take place on January 31, 2025, at 3:00 PM.

As we bid farewell to this extraordinary man, let us remember Howard not only for his laughter and kindness but also for the light he shared, inspiring each of us to help one another along the journey of life.
