Carl Wayne Sanders, 89, of Yukon, OK died December 3, 2025 at Spanish Cove Retirement Village. A graveside service and burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at the Sentinel Cemetery, Sentinel, OK.

Carl was born on October 13, 1936 in Sentinel, OK to Isaiah Volon Sanders and Maggie Lee Chism Sanders. He graduated from Port High School, Port, OK, Oklahoma City University, and Oklahoma State University. He married Mary Sue McBroom Sanders on March 23, 1975 in Sentinel, OK.

He was a farm worker for many farmers in the Port community and also worked at Clinton-Sherman Air Force Base. Upon completing an Education degree, he taught air-condition/air flow at Mid-Del Career Tech and was a refrigeration tech at OU Health Science Center in Oklahoma City. He retired in 1994.

Carl moved to Norman in 1989 where he lived until January 2006 when he moved to Spanish Cove Retirement Village in Yukon, OK.

He had many loves in life, those being family, hunting, fishing, playing dominos and golf, a deep faith, and many friends. He really loved being the special uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Carl's parents, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Lorraine Sanders, Verna Lee Perkey (James), Trannie Ruth Mapp (Vernon); brothers, Bob Sanders, Jim Sanders (Pat), and brother-in-law Paul Smith preceded him in death.

Carl's survivors include wife, Mary Sue McBroom Sanders; nephews, Larry and Mary Lou Perkey, Jerry and Sally Perkey, both of Hobart, OK, Lyndel and Cindy Sanders, Bronson, TX; nieces, Dena and David Reidl, Austin, TX, Karen Sue and Jesse Bailey, Lawton, OK, Jana and Frank McCoy, Lubbock, TX, Teresa and Ricky Cavitt, Brownwood, TX, Mary Kaye Mapp, Plainview, TX, Lynette Alford, Elk City, OK, Paula and Kevin Taylor, Seminole, OK, and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
