Howard Thomas Taylor, 75, of Bloomington, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 31, 2025. Born on February 24, 1950, in Bloomington, he was the son of the late Willie "Bill" and Nora (McDowell) Taylor. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Roberts. He married Patricia (Purnell) Taylor on April 25, 2025; she survives. Howard worked for Victor Limestone and Independent Limestone. He was a member of Laborers Union 741 and was a heavy equipment operator. He loved to tell jokes, working on vehicles, woodworking, flowers, sitting on the porch and watching birds, especially humming birds. Howard loved his family and they loved him, saying that they could have never asked for a better father and husband. He was very unique and forgiving. He is survived by his wife; Patricia Taylor; his son, Steve Taylor; sisters, Linda Deckard and Juanita Taylor; grandchildren, Morgan Gilwreath, Joshua McCamm, Steven Taylor II, Christian Taylor, Dallas McCammon, Alyssa Bohall, and Amber Bohall; great grandson, Howard Willie Wesley Taylor; and six other great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tammy Marie Taylor Bohall; infant son, Howard Thomas Jr.; and siblings, Ruth Harden, Mary Kelly, Kathryn Houshour, Don Taylor, Dave Taylor, Ernest Taylor, and Rosco Taylor. A private family visitation was held for Howard. Allen Funeral Home was entrusted to the care of these arrangements.
