Kim Kohlmeier, age 70, passed away at Stonecroft Health Campus in Bloomington, IN on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. He was born in Milan, IN on May 3, 1955, to Jon W. and Carla Ann (Schornick) Kohlmeier. Kim graduated from Milan High School in 1973. He was a four-year athlete at Milan in football, basketball and golf. Kim was the captain of both the football and basketball teams in his junior and senior years at Milan.
Kim was a very accomplished person who was passionate about IU Basketball. These accomplishments included; basketball manager at IU for Coach Bob Knight from 1973-1977 when he earned his Varsity I Letter; manager for three Big Ten Championship teams from 1974-1976; manager for the undefeated 1976 NCAA Champions; Senior Basketball Manager from 1976-1977; serving on the Board of Directors for the I Association from 1988-2015; receiving the Z.G. Clevenger Award in 2017; and awarded the 50-Year I Award in 2023. Kim received his B.S. degree from Indiana University in the O' Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs in 1977 and was a member of the Acacia Fraternity.
A private burial will take place in Milan, IN, in accordance with Kim's wishes. Allen Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana University Foundation in care of the Kim C. Kohlmeier Athletics Manager Scholarship Fund in the IU Athletics Department, c/o IU Foundation, P.O.
