Howell Smith

Howell Clifton Smith, age 86, of Alvin, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Laurel Court Nursing Facility in Alvin. Howell was born December 23, 1939 in Knoxville, Tennessee and was a resident of Alvin since 1968. He proudly served his country in the United States Airforce, worked as a billboard painter and attended First Presbyterian Church of Alvin. He had a love for classic cars and roaming around swap meets. Howell is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Edna Smith; brother, Billy Smith.

Howell is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Loraina Smith; son, Jimmy Smith and wife Julie; brother, Ray Smith and wife Brenda; grandchildren, Matthew and wife Calley, Cody, Colby and Clint; great grandchildren, Laynee and Maxx; along with numerous extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Howell's honor to the Alvin Animal Adoption Center, 550 West Highway 6 Alvin, Texas 77511.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 16, 2026 at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.
