Hsuan Hsiu-Chen Chi

Hsuan Hsiu-Chen Chi, age 96, passed away on October 11, 2025, in Victoria, Texas. She was born in Shanghai, China on December 25, 1929, to the late Rui-Ting Hsuan and Qiao-Lian Fang.
In the 1950's, shortly after she graduated from Shanghai Patriotic Girls' High School, her fiancé moved to Taiwan. As the years passed, she followed her heart and were finally reunited. They married and became lifelong companions.
Her mother-in-law, since husband passed away, single-handedly raised two orphans with great difficulty. After arriving in Taiwan, her mother-in-law was inspired by the gospel message of older church members and led her son and Hsuan Hsiu-Chen to embrace Christianity. From then on, Hsuan Hsiu-Chen dedicated her life to putting the Lord first. Hsuan Hsiu-Chen was gentle and humble, she especially paid respect to her mother-in-law. Hsuan Hsiu-Chen possessed the traditional virtues of a Chinese woman, a rare example of a Christian woman.
Her memorial ceremony will be hosted on Sunday October 19, 2025, at 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM at Comfort Community Church located at 702 Smith Rd., Port Lavaca, TX 77979. A light snack and drinks will be provided after the service.
