Richard Hubert Brower of
Robbins, NC, was born on March 3, 1940 to the late Lannie Malcolm and Dessie Brower, and was an only child. Richard went to be with the Lord on June 7th, 2024, the same day as his Uncle, Deacon George Brower, in whom Richard was raised with and loved hard.
Richard accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Richard attended every church service that was provided by the church. His mother Dessie taught Sunday school and was the leader of many ministries. Richard was there, his father, Trustee, Lannie Brower and mother were very active and served on many ministries. Richard was there, they all sang on the choirs. Richard was there and so the love of singing was in incorporated in his veins ad spirit. Richard sang baritone, and did we say Loved to sing.
Richard was educated in the Moore County School System, Pinckney High school, Carthage NC. He was academically sound, and he loved and played ball as well as sang.
Richard relocated immediately after to
Newark, NJ, and continued his education in Logistics, he loved everything about trucks. He owned and operated many and could tell you about any and every highway, directions included. Richard worked at True Trucking until independent and retirement.
Richard and his family were the first and founding members of the Greater Bethel Baptist Church,
Newark, NJ. There he served as Usher and Trustee.
Richard would later join The Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church. He loved his Church Family and was a loyal member for 34 years under the leadership of Dr. Leonard Shamberger. He served, assisted and supported in any way that he could. Richard would boast of the fact that while serving and worshipping, he was surrounded by family.
Richard was appointed a member of the diaconate alongside of his cousin, Deacon Joe Shamberger and appointed by Rev. Shamberger, as President of the Male Chorus, where he served faithfully until he could not. He also sang Quartet with the Mc Zion Wrens of
Newark, NJ. And with his children and The Brower Brothers, A major highlight for him.
Richard was a devoted husband to his wife Clairine and a loving father to all of his children. He cherished every grand, great-grand, niece and nephew. Richard was very supportive of them all.
Richard was preceded in death by his ex-wife, the late Shirley Brower, and to this union he is survived by two daughters, Revered Jeanie Brower and Sherry Booker (Husband Richard Booker), three sons, Revered/Pastor Clifford Richard (Wife Co-Pastor Revered Desiree Brower), (twins) Deacon Quino & Deacon Reno Brower. (Grands) Tadasha Brower, Tyree Allen, Kieshawn Williams, Aquaila Williams, Wakilia Williams (preceded), Dana Mathews, Cheena Brower, Sheena Brower, Justine Mills, and Ravone Brower, along with Twenty-Two Great Grands.
Richard leaves to cherish his wife, in whom he dearly loved, Clairine Brower, (son) Christopher Brower, (Grands) Cyer A. Brower, Brave C. Brower, Alyssa M. Evans-Brower, and Legend K. Brower, and a host of Bonus sons.
Richard will be remembered as one of great commitment, hardworking and ever loving, and that We Shall Never Forget.
