Hubert "Hubie" Trischler

Hubert C. "Hubie" Trischler born November 28, 1937, passed away peacefully

September 30th, 2025, in his hometown of Wheeling, WV. He was the son of

the late Bernard and Marie (Neidert) Trischler. He was a husband, father,

grandfather, brother, and uncle. He graduated from Central Catholic High

School in 1955.

He married Donna J. Sweitzer in 1964. Hubie has been a member of St. Vincent de Paul

Catholic Church since 1964. He was also in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years

and a member of AARP Local #824, where he served as a board member and

collected money at luncheon meetings. Hubie retired after fourty five years of service

from Value City Furniture as a Sales Associate and Assistant Manager. After retiring,

he took pleasure in giving back to his community by cleaning its streets.

He is survived by his wife Donna J. Trischler, his children Melissa I. (Joseph) Huff of

Wheeling, WV, Brian D. Trischler of Canonsburg, PA, grandchildren Ryan

(McKenna Gump) Huff, Megan Huff, Brendan Trischler, and Mark Trischler,

brothers Dennis Trischler of Woodbridge, VA, sisters Jeanette Terretti and

Marlene Trischler both of Wheeling, WV, brother-in-law William E. (Barbara)

Sweitzer of Cincinnati, OH, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great

nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph E., Gerald, Maurice, and Richard

Trischler, sisters Dolores and Dorothy Bischof, and Irene Trischler.

Family and friends will be received Sunday, October 5th from 4pm to 6pm at

Altmeyer Funeral Home in Elm Grove. Mass will be held Monday, October

6th at 11am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with a committal service

following at Mount Calvary. Memorial contributions may be made to St.
