Huei-ju ("Polly") Chang died peacefully early on the morning of August 23, 2025.

Polly was born in 1946 in Taiwan, and was the second of five children in the family. She spent much of her childhood in the countryside, living with her beloved aunt and uncle. She later attended National Taiwan University, where she met her future husband, Laurence ("Larry") Chang. After graduation, they took the brave and bold step of moving to the United States, where they married.

After immigrating to the United States, Larry and Polly lived in Connecticut, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Iowa while they each pursued additional education. Polly obtained her Master's degree in Library Science from the University of Tennessee, and was multilingual in Mandarin, Taiwanese, English, and Japanese. Larry studied at Wesleyan University, obtained his PhD in Chemistry from Princeton University, and completed post-doctoral research at Iowa State University. After becoming American citizens, they settled in Connecticut. Polly worked as a librarian and Larry worked as a research chemist, they raised two children, and they lived in the same home for more than 40 years. Toward the end of Polly's life, they relocated to Colorado to be closer to family.

Throughout her life, Polly was fun and energetic, and loved chatting with others and trying new things. She was a generous wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother. She loved the outdoors, getting together with friends for meals, walks along the Connecticut beach, bowling, travel, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Polly is survived by her sisters Sophia, Mary, and Diana; her brother, Ming; her in-laws; her daughter Jennifer (Ryan); her son Randy (Yeonjin); two grandchildren; her nieces and nephews and their families; and countless close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and Larry.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Quebec Place at Fairmount (430 South Quebec Street, Denver, CO 80247), followed by burial at Fairmount Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) in Polly's memory.
