Hugh Wayne Campbell, a beloved truck driver and cherished member of his community, peacefully passed away at home on September 13, 2025, in Montgomery, Texas. Born on August 24, 1963, in Port Arthur, Texas, Wayne's life was marked by a generous spirit and a commitment to helping others.
Wayne was educated at Permian High School, where he distinguished himself not only as a student but also as a member of the swim team. His passion for life was evident in all that he pursued, particularly as he transitioned into his career as a truck driver. Known for his good heart, Wayne was a man who would help anybody in need, earning him respect and admiration from those around him.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Wayne enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought him joy and fulfillment. He delighted in building guns and spending time in the garage, often experimenting with new barbecue, grilling, and smoking recipes. A social man at heart, he loved playing poker with his friends, sharing laughter and good times, and indulging in frozen margaritas during cherished gatherings.
Wayne is survived by his loving family, including his mother Patricia Zenior, sister Debra Sexton, brother Dean Campbell, brother-in-law Marus Sexton, step-sister Glenda Hatton, and brother-in-law Wade Hatton. He is also remembered fondly by many cousins, nieces, and nephews who will carry his memory forward.
In celebration of Wayne remarkable life, a come-and-go gathering will be held at the Rabon Chapel Church of Christ in Montgomery, Texas. Friends and family are invited to join together on September 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM to honor his legacy and the warmth he brought to those fortunate enough to know him. The service will conclude at 3:00 PM.
Hugh Wayne Campbell will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the memories he created will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
