Hugh Colburn

Hugh N. Colburn, Jr., 85, of Chicago, passed away on August 1, 2022. Beloved husband of Carol Ann, nee Ciesla. Loving father to Hugh R. (Voula) and Christine Colburn. Proud grandfather of Lucas Colburn. Cherished brother of the late Luann (the late Peter) Vaky. Adored uncle to Peter (Debbie), Paul (Viancy) and Matthew (Laura) Vaky and great-uncle to many. Dear son to the late Hugh Sr. and Luella nee Halvorson. Hugh will be missed by many friends and family. Hugh was a veteran of the United States Air Force and worked in the meat packing industry for 43 years. He was a devoted and active member of St. John's Episcopal Church for his entire life. Hugh enjoyed being a member of the Brandenburger Schutzen Verein Shooting Club, the Bjornson Male Chorus, and was a Past Master of Old Glory Lodge No. 141. He was an avid fan of Indy Car racing and the Chicago Bears. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 3rd at 10:00 am followed by a service at 11:00 am at St. John's Episcopal Church, 3857 N Kostner Ave, Chicago, IL 60641. Inurnment to follow the service at St. John's Episcopal Church.
