Hugh Andrew Combs (“Andy”),
Beloved child of God, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at age 67. He was a resident of Chicago, Illinois. Born at Fort McClellan in Anniston, Alabama to Jack Combs and the late Gail Kelly.
Andy graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1977 and earned his Masters of Religion at Trevecca Nazarene University in 1989. He served as a pastor in the Nazarene Church for 25 years and most recently was the Managing Director of Operations and Programs at Sunshine Gospel Ministries for over 9 years. Andy was a man of faith. He devoted his life to family and serving others. He had a compassionate heart and a warm sense of humor. He found peace through nature and joy in riding his motorcycle.
Andy is survived by his wife, Cindy Seedorff; his children, Stephen (Jennifer) Combs of New Lenox, and Kristen (Victoria Etayem) Combs of Countryside; five grandchildren, Anna, Fiona, and Mark Kexel, Christopher and Jack Combs; father Jack (Nancy) Combs and stepfather Moultrie Kelly; siblings Janet (Jack) Rich, Irene Kelly, Kent (Lisa) Rayborn, Denise Rayborn Wickersham, and Melodie (Steven) Mihailoff; three step children, Cassie (John) Tarr, Vanessa (Ben) Moe, and Grant Jahns; six step grandchildren; four sisters in law; numerous nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Nanette Willis Combs. Andy was a father figure to many and loved by all. He was predeceased by his sisters, Lisa Combs and Kristin Kelly; his son, Christopher Daniel Combs; and his mother, Gail Kelly.
Visitation Sunday, October 15 from 2pm until 7pm at the KERRY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CARE CENTER, 7020 West 127th St, Palos Heights.
Family and Friends will gather for visitation on Monday, October 16 from 11am until time of service 1pm at the Augustana Lutheran Church of Hyde Park, 5500 S. Woodlawn Ave, Chicago.
Interment will be private.
