David was an avid coon hunter and UKC world champion, horseman, able mechanic, and successful businessman always known for his integrity and kindness. David was a long-time member of Carolina Presbyterian Church, a congregation his McDonald forefathers helped to establish in 1841. He will be buried with these forefathers in the old Carolina Cemetery, very close to where the original church once stood.
