Hugh Gustafson, 69, passed away on March 6, 2026. Born in Denver, he was the son of Walter and Helene Gustafson.
He fell in love with the food industry as a teenager and became an excellent chef, cooking as a career and for friends and family as well.
He loved fishing, and was an avid fly fisherman. His fishing excursions took him all over the rocky mountains and fishing in Alaska, Australia and New Zealand. He loved camping, science fiction movies and all kinds of music.
As a tradesman, he could do all types of projects ranging from home construction, painting, plumbing and electrical work to very fine woodworking and musical instrument repairs.
Hugh was known for his quirky wit and love of a good conspiracy theory. He was never happier than when he was working with his hands. Hugh loved listening to the radio and always had it on especially during the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies games.
He is survived by his parents and sisters Leslie Gustafson-Reis and Dana McAllister (Patrick). He was pre-deceased by his brother Timothy, and his twin brother Mark.
