MacArthur, Mr.Hugh Douglas
Formerly of Whitehall, Michigan
Hugh Douglas MacArthur, age 89, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born in Detroit, MI on July 14, 1933 to John & Ardath (Hipley) MacArthur, raised in Scottville, MI and served his country in the US Air Force in Germany. He married the former Barbara Marcelous on July 12, 1958 in Scottville, MI. He was preceded in death By his father John James, mother Ardath,brother John James, wife Barbara in 2009 and son Dion James in 2019. Hugh worked in the maintenance department for several different companies for nearly 45 years eventually retiring from Brunswick. He was a former member of St. James Catholic Church in Montague and a longtime member of the American Legion and the VFW in White Lake. Hugh was also active for many years in the White Lake AA group which became an extended family. He enjoyed playing golf and was very proud of his hole in one. He loved following his grandchildren all over the country for sports. He also liked riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Hugh will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Sister, Mary Jo Holmes, Son, Brent (Rashel) MacArthur, Son, Darren Frazier, Daughter-in-law, Carmel MacArthur, Special Friend Allen Blohm,; Grandchildren, Curt (Gretchen) MacArthur, Cameron (Toni) MacArthur, Jordan MacArthur, Cassie MacArthur; great-grandchildren, Emily, Mason, Kendall, Zaine and April.
