It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gregory Alan Gause, age 69, of Muskegon, Michigan. Gregory departed this life on July 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and steadfast dedication to his work and community.

Born in Muskegon, Michigan on October 15, 1955 to Willie & Ada (Cowherd) Gause and then later raised by his stepfather John Upchurch, Gregory graduated from Whitehall High School with a strong sense of purpose that guided him throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a mechanic, stationed at Fort Bragg and in Germany, where he developed his lifelong skills and work ethic.

Throughout his career, Gregory was employed at several reputable organizations, including Lomax, Sun Chemical, and Eagle Ottawa Leather. He approached each day with determination and integrity, leaving a lasting impression on his colleagues and friends.

Gregory was a passionate outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing in his spare time. He found joy in watching sports, classic westerns, and auction shows on television, sharing these moments with his beloved family. His love for nature and enthusiasm for life will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Gregory is survived by his cherished children: son Gregory Raiz, son Alexander Gause, daughter Mahala Dembrosky, daughter Shekeela Nikki Gause (Morton), and daughter Ebony Gause. He will also be missed by his grandchildren: Ava Gause, Alani Gause, Ava Dembrosky, Isaiah Simon, Mekhi Simon, and Maliyah Morton. Additionally, he is survived by his devoted siblings: sister Sandra "Kay" Gause, brother Ronald Gause, brother John Upchurch, brother Delmar Upchurch, sister Jennifer (Bill) Johnson, sister Carol Klapko, sister Deborah Crockett, sister Jenniffer Crockett and former spouse Eva Alexander. He was preceded in death by brothers Greg and Willie Crocket, father Willie Gause, Mother Ada Upchrcu and step-father John UpchurchCrockett, Willie Gause, Ada Upchurch, John Upchurch
