Burchfield,

Kay Constance Vallier

North Muskegon, Michigan

Connie (Kay Constance) Vallier Burchfield, age 84, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025. She was born in Muskegon, MI on August 4, 1940 to Wilford & Leone (Pearson) Vallier and graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School in 1958. Connie was retired from the Muskegon County District Court. Our mother however had many, many careers during her lifetime. Bakery worker in her teens, in the office for Shaw Walker after graduation, to a telephone operator in Key West, Florida. This began her career as a proud Navy wife raising 4 children. She loved Key West, who wouldn't? But the Navy had other plans for her, off to Adak Alaska you go. Never fear, after a year, the Navy relented and happily moved her back to Key West. She then followed her husband to Charleston SC where she found her affinity for all things floral. Even dragging her reluctant teenagers on excursions looking for Dog Wood and Crepe Myrtle trees to dig up and drag home! The Navy then had their final surprise for Mom, you are now off to Keflavik Iceland. Joke was on them, it was her FAVORITE duty station. She even received a support commendation from the Air Force Commander for her role as the Navy Lodge Supervisor making the stay of General Chappie James and other VIP's go seamlessly.

She was a former member of St Jean's Catholic Church from a long line of the French Canadian Vallier family. She most recently was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and St. Mary of the Woods. In her retirement she enthusiastically enjoyed any and all card games and traveling and cruising the world with family and friends. Our mother, Connie, lead a very exciting and diverse life and enjoyed every second of it. She is going to be greatly missed by many.
