Mr. Hugh Lee Peeler, age 78 of Shelby, NC, went to be with His Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Weaver Strickland and husband Jerry of Shelby, NC, a grandson, Bradley Weaver and girlfriend Savannah Deaton of Shelby, NC, his siblings, Joe Don Peeler and wife Sue of Lawndale, NC, Bobby Gene Peeler of Ellenboro, NC, Derema Peeler Luckadoo of Casar, NC, Jimmy Steve Peeler and wife Barbra of Shelby, NC, Shirley Peeler McWhirter of Lattimore, NC, and Kathy Peeler Davis of Lawndale, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born January 10, 1947, in Cleveland County, NC, Hugh was the son of the late Joseph Osnie Peeler and Mary Margaret Weatherford Peeler and was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Pamela Jean Hughes Peeler.
Hugh was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Shelby where he served as a Deacon. Hugh enjoyed fishing, golfing, building stuff with his hands, and spending time with his family and friends. Hugh served as a Master Mason at Lawndale Masonic Lodge #486.
A memorial service will be held 3:00pm Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Pastor Doug Pruett. A visitation will be held form 2:00pm – 3:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
