Hugo Mejia, Sr. Obituary
Hugo A. Mejia Sr., 87, passed away on June 9, 2025. Hugo was the beloved husband of the late Blanca I. Mejia, loving father of the late Mario R. Mejia, Suany A. Mejia, Walda I. Mejia, Helga M. Hernandez, Hugo A. Mejia Jr. and Karen J. Mejia. Fond father-in-law of James Foley and Janette Mejia. Brother to Fidias Omar Mejia. Cherished abuelo to Ricardo B. Morales Jr., Delia K. Morales, Daniel H. Hernandez, Adamari I. Hernandez, Kayla E. Garcia and Jacobo A. Mejia.
Hugo was a horologist in his native country of Honduras C.A. and worked for the United Parcel Services (UPS) and The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) for many years until his retirement. He resided in Bridgeport with his late wife Blanca and his family.
Visitation will be on June 19, 2025 from 3:00-8:00 pm and, June 20, 2025 from 8:30-9:30 am at Walter Pomierski & Son Funeral Home, 1059 West 32nd Street, Chicago, IL 60608. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, June 20, 2025 at St. Mary of Perpetual Help Church, 1039 West 32nd Street, Chicago, IL 60608.
