On Sunday, February 12, 2023, Huizhen Yang, loving wife, mother of two children, grandmother of four grandchildren, passed away at the age of 86.
Huizhen was born in 1937 in Shanghai, China. She received her medical degree from the Shanghai Second Medical School in 1959, and she was a professor for 40 years at the Shanghai Secondary Medical School. In 1961, she married Zongli Qian. They raised a daughter, Jun, and a son, Roy (Rong).
In life, Huizhen was a woman of many talents and hobbies. She loved art and was known to paint beautiful landscapes on paintings, plates, and fans which she would share with her family. She especially loved flowers and birds, many of which would be prominently featured in her works. She always made an effort to connect with those around her, whether that was through teaching her many classes of students as a professor, building up a community within her assisted living facility, or learning the language and hobbies of her grandchildren to stay involved.
Huizhen was preceded in death by her father, her mother and her husband. She is survived by her two children, Jun and Roy, and 4 grandchildren, Libby, Jessica, Lucas and Ella.
