Hunter Lynn Irwin, age 28, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at his home. Cremation has taken place and Service will be held at a later date.

Hunter was born on June 17, 1997, to Christopher Irwin and Heather Nippert Irwin in Lubbock, TX. Hunter was an exceptional musician especially with the clarinet and bass clarinet in high school and college. Hunter was chosen for all four years of high school for All State band and All District Band. One year chosen first chair in New Mexico All State symphony. Hunter played the clarinet at many special occasions for family and friends.

Hunter loved to travel. He enjoyed many summers at the beach in Port Aransas and in the mountains in Ruidoso with his family as a young kid. He was a collector of many things during his travels.

Despite Hunters health challenges he always kept a positive and upbeat attitude. Hunter had the best smile; he was always up for a selfie. To know Hunter was to love Hunter. He was especially proud of the title Uncle Hunter to his nephew Cody and niece Lylah.

Survivors include his father; Christopher Irwin, stepmom; Alana Irwin, Brother; Cade Irwin (Kelsey), maternal grandparents; Debbie Nippert and Dave Baker, paternal grandparents; John and Janet Irwin, partner Shandell Cisco, special friend; Rachel Howe, as well as many other special friends, stepbrothers; Tyler McCoy and Hayden Reeves, and stepsister; Avery Reeves. Aunts and uncles, Scott and Kristen Knauer and Heath and Valarie Nippert, as well as numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother; Heather Nippert Irwin and Grandfather Darryl Nippert
