It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Huria Katrina Angelo Toto on Saturday, December 14, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on January 1, 1970, in Kadugi, Sudan, Huria was a beacon of light and warmth in the lives she touched. She was the beloved daughter of Kartina Angelo and Batul Saleh, and her legacy will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
Huria's early life in Sudan shaped her into a resilient and compassionate individual. She received her education in the District of Kadugli, where she developed a thirst for knowledge that would stay with her throughout her life. Following her dreams, she eventually migrated to the United States, where she forged her own path and built a loving family.
In her community, Huria was a strong and unwavering presence, as a devoted member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Her faith and community service enriched not only her life but also the lives of those around her. Huria's spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Huria was a dedicated and hardworking woman, spending many fulfilling years working at Coach. Her commitment to her job was only rivaled by her devotion to her family. As a mother, Huria cherished her children, Reem Ibrahim, Salma Ibrahim, Jalila Ibrahim, and Hajir Ibrahim instilling in them the values of love, perseverance, and kindness. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to eleven grandchildren, six boys and five girls, who brought her immeasurable joy and laughter.
Huria was preceded in death by four siblings, a loss that she carried with grace throughout her life. She is survived by her loving mother, Batul Saleh; her father, Kartina Angelo; her siblings, Hiba Kartina, Nawal Kartina, Hewida Kartina, and Metyas Kartina; and her special name, Agawa, which signifies the deep love and connection she had with those around her. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, along with many sorrowing friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Rest peacefully, dear Huria. Your legacy of love will forever shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew you.
