Bobby "Carl" Thompson I was born on August 16, 1945 in Asheville, North Carolina. He was a lifelong resident of Asheville and graduated from Steven Lee High School in 1964.

Carl was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Carol Alford Evans; his son, Bobby Carl Thompson I; his daughter, Carla Thompson; and his brother, Eugene Thompson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Mary Thompson; his loving sisters, Alberta Thompson and Annette Thompson of New Jersey, and Patricia Thompson of South Carolina. He also leaves behind his children, Angela Destiny, Helena Gray, Charlene Pea, Charles Thompson, Rodney Chambers, Miriam Chambers and a large and treasured family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each one dear to his heart. Carl adored his grandchildren-he saw only the best in them, and in his eyes, they could do no wrong.

Carl worked faithfully for more than 25 years as a production supervisor at Wilson Art, where he earned the respect and friendship of his coworkers through his dedication and hard work.

Known for his generous heart and unforgettable personality, Carl brought joy and laughter to those around him. His friends fondly recall that if the mole on his nose ever shifted from the right side to the left-you'd better watch out! His sense of humor and spirited presence will forever be remembered.

We find comfort in knowing that God always has a plan. Carl and his son, Bobby Carl, shared the same birthday in life-and now they walk together, hand in hand, into the arms of their Heavenly Father.

Carl's legacy of love, strength, and devotion lives on through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved him.

A joint Celebration of Life with his son, Bobby Carl Thompson, II will be 3:00pm Friday, October 31, 2025 at Faith Tabernacle Christian Center.
