Ida Bryan Alston, age 74, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on February 27, 2025. She was born in the St. Helena Islands of South Carolina on May 28, 1950, the daughter of the late George Bryan Sr. and Venus Brown Bryan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edwin Bryan and Jonathan Byran.
From an early age she received her early education from Beaufort School System. She proudly graduated from Benedict College with her Bachelor of Science in Social Work. She worked for over 20 years for the State of Georgia as a Social Worker and retired where she took pride in providing phenomenal and compassionate care for her clients and she admired her co-workers as family. She was a committed church member at Greater New Light Baptist Church for over 40 years where she became a member in the late 1970s. Greater New Light was always her second family in Christ. She served diligently and whole heartedly on the Mothers Board and took incredible pride in making sure everyone received a card whether for Birthdays, Anniversaries, special moments, and those times in need. For Christmas, she made sure EVERY single person got something, that is how much her love reached. Her quiet loving nature and compassion went beyond the moon and stars. Her faith in God never wavered despite her darkest hour and in that we find comfort and healing in this greatest loss. God has truly gained an amazing angel and spirit!
"Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your Masters happiness! Matthew 25.21
