Kenneth "Roger" Mullins, a devoted husband, beloved Dad, cherished Poppy, and loving Honey, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, in Locust Grove, Georgia. Roger was 84.
Born in Union City, Tennessee, on May 23, 1941, Roger was raised in Milan, Tennessee, where he graduated from Milan High School in 1959. Following high school, Roger proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, receiving an Honorable Discharge in October 1963.
Roger's life took its defining direction in 1969 when he surrendered to full-time Christian service and the call to preach. He dedicated himself to ministry, attending Bible College of Memphis, TN, and Baptist Bible College in Shreveport, LA, and taking on multiple roles of leadership and faith.
In 1977, Roger, alongside his beloved wife, Cherie, and their children, Buddy and Cindy, entered into full-time evangelism. For years, they traveled extensively, holding as many as 42 revivals annually, and ministered internationally in Belize, Honduras, the Philippines, Romania, and Albania. He had a great love for Israel, and was blessed to host multiple Holyland Pilgramage Tours over the course of his lifetime. The family recorded numerous gospel songs, spreading their message through music. In 1989, Roger was honored for 25 years of devoted ministry with three separate Honorary Doctor of Divinity degrees. By 1994, he transitioned to directing Hope For World Missions in Albania, where he and Cherie maintained an active membership at Glen Haven Baptist Church in McDonough, Georgia.
Roger was truly unforgettable. His enthusiasm and contagious love for people were the hallmarks of his life, best encapsulated by his long-held quote: "An enthusiastic evangelist with an exciting God." Whether in a large revival or across an ocean in Albania, where he was immediately encircled by children, "He looked down at them, they looked up at him, and he knew then where his journey of ministry would take him.
Roger was always encouraging his children to "make time" for people, in revival settings he would have Buddy greet, especially the youth, that would come to the revival services.
He also enjoyed a fun side and was a faithful fan of his two favorite teams, the Tennessee Volunteers and the Atlanta Braves.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Van Mullins; his mother, Annie Gwendolyn Mullins Lindley; and his sister, Demetra Lund.
He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Cherie Mullins; his sister, Judee Rauchle; his brother-in-laws, David Rauchle, Paul Lund; his daughter, Cindy Howard (Andy); and his son, Buddy Mullins (Kerri). His legacy continues through his devoted grandchildren: Brady Howard (Savannah), Austin Howard (Suzanne), Victoria Richard (Matthew), and Olivia Putman (Nick); as well as his great-grandchildren: Beau and Adaline Howard, Mercy, Luma, and Genesis Richard, Summer Rae Howard, and Billie Putman; along with multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A service to honor Roger's life will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, beginning 2:00 PM at Glen Haven Baptist Church, 345 E Lake Rd, McDonough, GA 30252. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until service start time at the church. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
