Ida Culp Obituary

Ida Belle Culp 97 born March 3, 1928, went home to be with the Lord on August 22, 2025, after a long battle with Dementia. She is survived by her children, Jane Kunes (Ron), Rebecca Levy (Dan), Mike Culp (Cindy), and Steve Culp (Hope). She was preceded in death by her husband William B Culp, children Randy Culp and "The little girls" Nancy DiGeroloma (Jimmy) and Wanda Culp-Lias (Blair). Ida also leaves behind a large family of adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who knew her well and loved her dearly. Her family was her greatest pride and joy.

Ida's journey began in Redfield, Arkansas, where she was affectionately called Ida Belle. After the birth of their third child, she and her husband, Bill moved the family to Ohio. The transition was a culture shock, but Bill and Ida faced it with the determination and enthusiasm so often seen in families seeking a fresh start. Their children quickly adapted to new surroundings while remaining strongly connected to their Arkansas roots.

Family trips back "home" to Arkansas became a tradition. Whenever Bill had a few days off between jobs, Ida would gather laundry and pack the children for the 900-mile drive to Redfield. One such trip in 1959 took place in their newly purchased Cadillac-a dream car for Bill and Ida.

Ida was a devoted stay-at-home mother who supported her carpenter husband, nurtured their children, and helped establish the family in their church. She loved the Lord, cherished her family, and enjoyed playing golf.

Ida was a lifelong learner and worked when her children were older. She was a police dispatcher, the Town Clerk in Redfield, AR, and she worked throughout her retirement years for her son Mike's construction business.

A special thanks to Michelle DiGeroloma (granddaughter) who worked tirelessly on arrangements for Ida's transition to Life Care of Medina, and to Sue Adkins, a family Friend who spent many hours by Ida's side.

A Celebration of Life service to honor Ida Belle Culp will be held on September 13,2025 at Waite Funeral Home: 765 N. Court Street, Medina, OH 44256. The family will receive friends and family from 10-11am at the funeral home, with the service from 11-11:30am, and a Luncheon to follow.
