James Russell Bagley "Bags", age 70, passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Western Reserve on August 26, 2025, after a four-year battle with liver disease.

He was born in Lodi, Ohio in 1955, and was a lifelong resident of Litchfield, Ohio. He graduated from Buckeye High School and then worked in the steel industry for many years. Jim went back to college in his 50's, receiving a degree in technology at Lorain Community College. He began his second career as a FAA Systems Specialist with the Federal Aviation Administration in Oberlin, Ohio. He retired in 2022.

He was an avid history buff and was a hunter in his early days. He enjoyed his Cleveland sports teams, especially the Browns, never missing a game!

Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cindy (Summers) Bagley; children Dirk (Dannette) Bagley and Devi Bagley (Keith); grandchildren Jason Bagley, Delanie Bagley, and Cody Michaels; sister-in-law Mary Bagley; stepsisters Patty Race and Jennifer Mullins; brothers-in-law Steve (Carole) Summers and Rick Summers; and his father-in-law Marl "Doc" Summers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Bagley; birth mother Helen Elizabeth Bagley; stepmother Barb Bagley; brother Jack Bagley; stepbrother Eddie Simmons; stepsisters Carol Failor, Linda Lengyl, and Kathy Al-Shawaf; half-brother Gene Bagley; and his mother-in-law Edna Summers.

Memorial visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, Ohio 44256, with a celebration of life to follow at 4 p.m.
