Ida Mae McKinney

Ida Mae McKinney, age 84, of Sylvania, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026. Born on March 26, 1941, in Millen, GA, Ida Mae brought warmth and love to those around her throughout her life.

A dedicated seamstress, Ida Mae worked at White Stag in Sylvania, GA, where she was employed for many years. Beyond her professional artistry, Ida Mae cherished time spent in her yard, finding joy in the simple pleasures of gardening, as well as in reading and continuing her love for sewing at home.

Ida Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William "Hamp" Hamilton McKinney; her cherished daughter, Rita Faye McKinney; her parents, Pete and Norma Lee Batchelor; a great grandchild, Emmett McKinney, as well as all her siblings.

Her legacy is carried on by her loving son, William Alan McKinney (Tracy), of Sylvania, GA, her treasured grandchildren, Aaron Tyler McKinney (Sarah), Matthew Ryan McKinney (Michaela), and Ashleigh Ellen McKinney, along with her three precious great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

The family will honor Mrs. Ida's life with a private gathering at a later date. There will be no public visitation or funeral, but your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated.
