Ida J. Molinaro

Age 103, of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2021. Beloved wife of the late James V. Molinaro; Loving mother of Deborah (Robert) Madden; proud grandmother of Mackenzie (Zachary) Varga and Brendan (Mallory) Madden; caring great grandmother of Charleston and Brooklyn Varga & Mireya and Dax Madden; treasured sister of the late Tina Perry, Anita DeRubis, Rose Ginestra, Angelina Sansosti, Mary Corvino, and Chester Iola; daughter of the late Loretto and Francesca Iola. Ida started her career in the 1930's as a vocalist during the big band era in Pittsburgh. She later went on to sing in the dance hall at Kennywood Park, KDKA radio and local night clubs with the Benny Burton and Lenny Martin Bands. In the late 1940's she retired from her singing career to later work at the DeLuca Shop in East Liberty followed by the William Penn Hat and Gown in Shadyside.
For the past 14 years, Ida has lived on the UPMC Seneca Campus, first in the Village followed by the Manor with her care being supported by Bridges Hospice. Her longevity gives testimony to the loving and genuine care she received from all.
Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUER- FRYER. Family and Friends are welcome at 430 Washington Ave., Bridgeville, 412-221-3800 on Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM where a blessing service will immediately follow the viewing.
Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
