Ida Rehfeld Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, Cemeteries & Crematories on Oct. 22, 2024.
Ida May Rehfeld entered eternal rest on Monday, October 21, 2024, at the age of 90. She was born on January 12, 1934, in Floresville, Texas.
Ida May worked for Deckers Meat Packing for 23 years, until they closed their San Antonio plant. She then went through the Senior Community Service Employment Program to update her skills and computer training. Ida May was then employed by Woodworkers of America where she worked until she retired at 83 years old. Mom loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were the light of her life. Other than our dad, mom really loved her chihuahua puppies Precious and Peanuts, after their passing she adopted Rascal from the Paul Jolly Center for Pet, he is really missing her.
Mom went on Hospice on September 17th, and we really appreciate the care she received from Vitas Hospice. We would especially like to thank her nurse Wendy, her aide Fernanda, therapist Katie, and Chaplin Michel for the care they gave her. Mom was never really sick in these last few weeks, which we are grateful for, and she was surrounded by family and friends until the end.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Walton A. Rehfeld, her parents Herbert Frieda and Ida Louise Frieda, and her brothers Herbert Frieda Jr. and Billy Ray Frieda.
She is survived by her daughters Debbie Morgan (Rick), Laurie Petty (Billy), and Teresa; sons Vaughn (Becky) and Michael (Susan); grandchildren Gregg (Ashley), Jason (Ingrid), Nola (Austyn), Jillian (Brad), Meghann (Jon), Casey, David and Colton; great-grandchildren Nathan, Aaron, Valentine, Cara, Veronica, Lyla, Fletcher, Violet, Amelia, Virginia, Cameron, Finley, Joseph and Vita Rose; sister-in-law Betty Frieda; aunt Lorene and Mary Teiken and numerous cousins; nephews Butch (Barbara), Brian (Tammy), Barry, and Billy Jr. (Misty).
Ida May will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Visitation will begin on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South with a Graveside Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Mission Burial Park South.
