Ida Reyes 67, of San Elizario, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Ida was born on January 20, 1958, in San Elizario to Francisco and Petra Almanzar.
Ida lived a life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She devoted 15 years as a Special Education Teacher Aide at San Elizario ISD, where her patience and encouragement touched the lives of countless students, inspiring them to reach their full potential.
Ida was known for her huge heart, vibrant personality, and kind, generous spirit that touched everyone she met. She brought joy and laughter wherever she went and made everyone feel special and loved.
Her family was the center of her world, and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Ida is survived by her husband, Ruben "Shooter" Reyes; her children, Jason Reyes (wife, Isela Reyes) and Justin Reyes (wife, Mayra Reyes); her grandchildren, Jenna Moon Moctezuma, Darren Kahne Reyes, Justine Alejandra Reyes, and Jaxon Ruben Reyes; and her great-grandson, Zolan Moctezuma. She is also survived by her siblings: Isabela Ramos, Ysidra Vasquez, Isela Almanzar, Raul Almanzar, Rene Almanzar, and Ralph Almanzar.
Ida’s legacy will live in the hearts of those who loved her. Gathering of Remembrance will be from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Friday, February 7, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 AM, Saturday, February 8, 2025 at San Elceario Catolic Church, 1556 San Elizario. Graveside Service will follow at 10:30 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
