Ieva L. Wheeler age 68, of Piney View, WV. Passed away at her residence on Thursday, December 26, 2024 with her family by her side. She was the daughter of Gilbert and Gloria Goins Smith. Born April 15, 1956 at Oak Hill WV.
Ieva was a CNA, worked for home health care patients. She also was a manager for Omelet Shop for several years. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and caring for house plants. She loved to go camping and fishing.
Ieva was of the Pentecostal Faith and attended the Day Star Worship Center.
In addition to her parents Ieva was preceded in death by her brother, Russell Smith, and her son, Michael Thorne.
Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 38 yrs, William A. Wheeler, daughter Sherry Green of Oak Hill, Son, Samuel Thorne, of Beckley, brothers: Joey Smith and wife Willma of Prince, Quentin Smith and wife Michelle of Prince, Jessie Smith and wife Sarita of Ansted, sisters: Kim Johnson and husband Shawn, of Prince, Jeanette Burgess of Moorefield, Step-Mother Hattie Smith of prince. Grand daughters Audrey Thorne of Boomer, Hallie Thorne of Beckley, Grandsons: Cable Green of Price Hill, Zach Green of Piney View, Tyler Rhodes of Beaver.
Three great grandchildren: Noah Michael Thorne, Trenton Acord and Journey Rhodes. Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Hope with Pastor Larry Humphrey officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.
Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home in Mount Hope on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
