Ignazio Comparetto, 83, entered into rest on September 4, 2022. The son of the late Angelo and Maria Comparetto, he was born October 18, 1938 in Santo Stefano Quisquina, Sicily, Italy. He was married October 21, 1961 in Santo Stefano Quisquina, Sicily to his wife Rosalia Comparetto.
Ignazio was a co-founder of Torino Bakery Inc. with his brothers-in-law, Isidoro Lauria and Salvatore Geraci on August 1, 1970.
Ignazio is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosalia Comparetto, his son Angelo Comparetto and his wife Antonietta, his daughter Maria Vacante and her husband Frank, his daughter Nancy Amato and her husband Sam; and his grandchildren Stefano, Ignazio, Gabriella, Adriana, Nina and Lia. Ignazio is also survived by his sister Adelina Lauria and her husband Isidoro, his sister Lidia Geraci, his sister Angela Lauria and her husband Isidoro, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Angelo and Maria Comparetto, and his brother-in-law Salvatore Geraci.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9 from 4-7 pm at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A mass will be held on Saturday at 10 am at Sacred Heart Church, with entombment following in Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Newburgh.
