Ileane Joy Kaczynski passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2025. Ileane was born in Bronx, NY on December 17, 1961 to Marilyn Horowitz, predeceased, and Shepard Horowitz. Ileane is survived by her husband, Thomas; her three daughters, Amanda, Jessica, and Caitlin; son-in-law Patrick, and grandson, Archer; and her sister, Andrea. Ileane was energetic, quick-witted and full of life. She was a devoted wife and mother, and would do anything and everything for her family. She loved her three daughters and was proud of them every day. Ileane was thrilled when her grandson, Archer, was born this past year and loved spending as much time with him as possible. Ileane fought a courageous battle against stage 4 uterine cancer for the past 3.5 years. She fought hard and strong, never letting cancer get in the way of her many social events and outings, as well as spending time with her loved ones. Ileane worked at Or Shalom synagogue for nearly 10 years and enjoyed it more than anything. Her positivity and friendliness made a special impact on the synagogue. Ileane was a social butterfly and had many friends who loved and cared for her. She was active in multiple book clubs, as she was an avid reader, often reading several books at one time. Ileane chaired and worked hard in several committees such as, fundraising for her employer and synagogue, Or Shalom, and the Beverly Levy Walk for Discovery to Cure, to support research for women's reproductive cancers. Ileane enjoyed going to her favorite beach, Anchor Beach, on the weekends spending hours and hours soaking up the sun and chatting with friends. Ileane was a light of hope and positivity for her family and community and will be truly missed. Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at Or Shalom Synagogue at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Farwell Cemetery in West Haven, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Peter E. Schwartz, Discovery to Cure.
