Ilo Lucille Ford, 87, of Columbus, passed away on July 1, 2024. She was born in Columbus on August 20, 1936 to the late John and Lucille (Esty) Hilpert. She married Robert George Ford, they remained married until his passing.
Those left to cherish her memories include granddaughter, Jennifer (Mike) Hunt; great-grandchildren, Anthony Swanson, Nathan Hunt, Megan Hunt and Zain Hunt; siblings, Susan, Alona (Tony), Sharron, June Covert; and many other family members and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Ilo was preceded in death by her siblings, Becky and John Hilpert; as well as her children, Alice Lucille (Ford) Harmon and, George Robert Ford.
Ilo had many passions. She loved yard sales and thrift shops. She was an extremely talented painter and enjoyed sharing her love of the arts with her Granddaughter. Ilo was proud of the many Ohio State Fair ribbons she won for her delicious baked pies and was adored for the scalloped potatoes and ham she would make for big family dinners. Ilo loved people and would do whatever she could to help those in need.
Immediate family will greet friends and family from 1pm to 3pm, Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral, Northeast Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, 43231. Service to follow at 3pm, on Sunday, also at the funeral home. Burial to follow on Monday at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg.
