Ima Jean "Tudy" Cook, 82, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Muskogee. She was born on March 10, 1943, in Muskogee to William Lee and Ima Dale (Wilson) Byfield.
Tudy graduated from high school in Fort Gibson and dedicated over 30 years as a secretary for the Fort Gibson School system. In 1962, she married her soulmate, Ronald D. Cook, and together they shared 63 years of love and devotion.
A faithful member of the Fort Gibson Church of Christ, Tudy found great joy in her faith and family. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting with oil, acrylics, charcoal, and prisma pencils. However, her greatest joy was her family-she cherished every moment spent with them and rarely missed her grandchildren's activities.
Tudy leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and devotion to her family. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
Tudy is preceded in death by her father, William Lee Byfield; and her mother, Ima Dale Byfield.
Those left to cherish Tudy's memory are her husband, Ronnie of the home; sons, Steve Cook and wife Leslie of Fort Gibson, and Gary Cook and wife Kelly of Fort Gibson; grandsons, Tyler Cook and wife Samantha, Kacy Cook and wife Cortney, Kevin Cook and wife Ashton, Zane Cook and wife Abigail, and Kennedy Cook and wife Blayne; great grandchildren, Emerson Cook, Cambry Cook, Cora Cook, Knox Cook, Hayes Cook, Campbell Cook, and Cade Cook; brother, Billy Lee Byfield; extended family; and many friends.
In lieu of flowers the family of Ima Jean 'Tudy' Cook is requesting memorial contributions be made in her name to Kelly B Todd Cerebral Palsy and Neuro-Muscular Center at www.kellybtodd.org
Visitation will be Friday, March 21, 2025 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson with family receiving friends from 5PM-7PM.
A celebration of Tudy's life will be 10AM, Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Fort Gibson Church of Christ with her son Gary Cook officiating and Minister Dan Rouse eulogizing. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Starnes Cemetery in Fort Gibson with Tyler Cook, Kacy Cook, Kevin Cook, Kennedy Cook, Zane Cook, and Knox Cook serving as casket bearers. This woman graced every life she touched with a little bit of heaven. Mrs. Cook is the only way my heart would let me refer to her. I would like to give my condolences to her family especially Mr. Cook, who I honor for the beautiful way he cared for his cherished bride. She is the queen of their kingdom. My most memorable conversations with her were when she shared stories of her best friends. How they raised their families together. When one of them had a need the others were waiting in line to help. The camping & gathering for BBQs because anyone missing wouldn't be the same. The pride in her voice when she spoke of her children & grandchildren. They have some pretty big shoes to fill. I will carry forever the little taste of heaven she graced me with. Sincerely, Deana Bias

I'm so sad to hear of Tudy's passing. I know she is up in heaven singing with her mom and dad and smiling with Jesus. We all will really miss her. Ronnie, Gary, Steve, and families you are all in my prayers. Love you all. Paula Jane Watkins-White
