Imelda was born on December 11, 1965, in Quezon City, Philippines, daughter of Juanito Morales and Luisita Manaid Morales.
She grew up in San Miguel, Bulacan, and carried with her a deep love for her Filipino roots throughout her life.
Imelda was married to Alwyn Nelson and she was also the loving mother of Chelsea Nelson, Adrienne Nelson and Erika Nelson.
She was a dedicated registered nurse. Imelda worked full-time at Montefiore Medical Center for 25 years, where she touched countless lives with her compassion, skill, and devotion to patient care.
She earned her college degree and built a meaningful career in the nursing and medical field, making a lasting impact on colleagues and patients alike.
Imelda's life was one of service, faith, and family, her Catholic faith remained a cornerstone of her life. She was a member of the Maharlika Family Bowling Club, she lived in New City, New York for 29 years, where she created a warm and welcoming home filled with love, laughter, and faith.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues, and all who were blessed to know her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 1:00 P.M to 5:00 P.M at Joseph W Sorce Funeral Home - 728 W Nyack Rd, West Nyack NY 10994.
All are invited to meet at the church for funeral mass on Monday, September 8, 2025, 11:00 AM at The Parish of St. Paul – St. Ann - 82 Lake Road West Congers, NY 10920.
Interment will take place at Gethsemane Cemetery – Rockland Lake Rd., Congers, NY 10920, Monday, September 8, 2025 at 12:00 noon. Repast will follow at Town & Country Caterers, 922 Route 9W South, Congers, New York, 10920.
