Immaculate Blaz

Immaculate "Micki" Blaz passed away on Friday, October 31st, 2025, at 80 years old. Wife of the late George J. Blaz Jr., Mother of AnnMarie (Joseph) Buccellato and George J Blaz III. Cherished and beloved grandmother of Angela and Joseph Buccellato. She had four generations of family she regularly engaged with (and far too many to name).

Micki was born in Detroit, Michigan to Giacomina and Giuseppe Finazzo on November 3rd, 1944. She completed their family, taking her role as "the baby." Growing up, Micki was a busy body, always wanting to be involved in everything. Her obsession with Elvis Preseley started at a young age and was solidified when she was kissed by him at his concert at 16 years old.

Micki was a trailblazer for her time. She went back to work at Michcon (DTE Energy) after raising AnnMarie and George, where she held numerous roles and eventually retired from. As an inspiration to many, Micki worked hard and certainly played hard. She was more active in retirement than she was when she worked. In recent years, Micki was President of DTE's Blue Flames, an Usher at St. Paul of Tarsus, Volunteer at the Fox Theater, played on a Bocce Ball league, swam twice a week, Member of the Red Hat Ladies, sold Avon, and much more. When she wasn't at one of her activities, you could find her playing penny slots at a casino, traveling, or having dinner with friends and family.

If you were lucky enough to meet her and be loved by her, you know she was truly a treasure. Whether it was a "thinking of you" text, a homemade meal, a little gift she knew you would love, or a sassy remark of unsolicited advice, she gave you every bit of her authentic self.

She would run circles around people a quarter of her age with how active she was. Micki loved endlessly, lived fearlessly, and gave generously. She embodied what a true Catholic is. Micki gave to numerous organizations, volunteered where she could, and never judged a book by its cover. She didn't care about the color of your skin, the person you chose to love, the career path you were on, or the mistakes you made. She cared about your integrity.

She left this earth on a national holiday to ensure she was celebrated every year. Micki went to join her mother, father, brothers, sister, and many others to start her birthday early. She is missed by many and her legacy will live on for generations to come.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025 from 3-9pm and Wednesday, November 5th, 2025 from 3-9pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). Instate will be 9:30am until the time of Funeral Mas 10am on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church 41300 Romeo Plank Rd. Clinton Township, MI 48038. Interment to take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, MI.
