Imogene Isaacks Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 7, 2023.
Imogene Virginia Isaacks (Owens) passed away September 4, 2023 in Giddings, Texas at the age of 88 after a lengthy battle with dementia.Gene was born on July 1, 1935 in Cumberland, Maryland to the late Luther and Helen Owens (Davis). She had six brothers: Curtis, Gerard, Jimmie, Ronnie, Richard and Larry and two sisters: Helen and Sharon.
She married Ellis Lee Isaacks Sr. on July 1, 1952 and they had five children together: Dalane, Butch, Dennis, Glenn and Ginny.
Gene never wanted for much. She was a simple woman who truly understood the value of a dollar. Her most favorite thing to do was to spend time with her dogs. She had quite a few throughout the years and would never let a homeless dog remain homeless. She loved watching talk shows and taking afternoon naps. She always had a pot of coffee brewing and never turned down a Dairy Queen ice cream cone or sundae. Her late-night shopping trips to Walmart were something to always look forward to! As she got older, she really enjoyed spending her days walking up and down the isles of every thrift store and Goodwill in Conroe. Gene never met a stranger and would become a friend to everyone she met.
In addition to her parents and all of her siblings, Gene is preceded in death by her husband Ellis Sr, daughter Dalane, and son Dennis.
She is survived by her children, Butch (Monica) Isaacks of Iola, Texas, Glenn Isaacks of Iola, Texas, Ginny Isaacks of Houston, Texas, six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Gene's celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 10:00 at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas (801 Teas Rd, Conroe, Texas, 77303).
