Imogene L. Madden, age 94, passed away January 19, 2026, at St. Vincent Ascension Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born on November 17, 1931, to Marie & Cyril VanWinkle Sr. in Tell City, IN.
Imogene is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Madden in 2006; son, Rod Madden; daughter, Sandy Madden Conner; siblings, Gayle VanWinkle, Cyril VanWinkle Jr., and Donna Downey.
She is survived by her son, Rick Madden (Bambi); grandchildren, Cassie Hardin (Joe), Sara Bartley (Joe), Josh D. Madden, Josh S. Madden, Sean Conner, Shasta Folsom (Bryce), Keith Carpenter (Caitlynn), and Rachel Smolen; several great- grandchildren and many nieces & nephews, daughter-in-law; Cathy Madden.
Imogene graduated from Boonville High School where she was a cheerleader. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and the United Mine Workers. She was a telephone operator, beautician, Imogene and Gene, owned & operated Parkway Trailor Court, where she also operated a beauty shop. Imogene enjoyed square dancing, working with flowers, and loved being with her family. Imogene saw the good in every person she met.
The family would like to thank Deaconess Gateway Oncology, Woodmont Health Campus staff and residents, Dr. Stephen Barnett, St. Vincent Hospital, and Heart to Heart Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2026, at St. Clement Catholic Church in Boonville, IN. with Father Lowell Will presiding. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until Mass begins. Visitation will also be held at St. Clement Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville, IN.
Memorial contributions are preferred to St. Clement Catholic Church or to the American Cancer Society.
