Jean went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Jean was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, and cousin. She will be immensely missed by all who loved and cherished her. She was a lifelong member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church.

Jean and her husband David always loved the holidays, especially Christmas. Jean made her special Christmas cookies and cooked many wonderful meals that were enjoyed by her entire family, extended family, and friends, who all felt she was the perfect hostess. A sweet, kind, and gentle spirit of a great southern lady is how she will remain on our hearts.

Throughout her life, Jean was employed at Commerce Union Bank, Rippey Auto Parts, CMA and Maury Regional Hospital. She then retired from PsychConsult in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jean was the daughter of the late Leo Newman and Myrtle Rayburn Cotter. Jean was married to C. David Harmon for 57 years until his death in 2017. Jean is also preceded in death by her granddaughter Robyn Harmon and grandson in law: Will Green.

Left to cherish her memory, she is survived by her children: Darlene (Ron)Pruitt, Tom (Robin) Harmon, Diana Hatcher, and William “Billy” (Steph) Harmon; grandchildren Penny Hood (Will) Green, Eddie Pruitt, Brandon Harmon, Frank Ross (Mary) Harmon, Alex (Theron) Bridges, Hollie (Josh) Stoops, and Robbie Harmon; greatgrandchildren: Meagan (Nicholas) Clark, Hannah (Colby) Delk, Katherine Green, Lauren Bridges, Eli Bridges, Harlan Hatcher, Henley Hatcher, Trinity Stoops, Tristen Stoops, and Brantley Fleeman; greatgreatgrandchild: Dixon Clark; and many cousins and extended family and numerous friends.

The family will receive friends on January 17, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, then will be followed by mass starting at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. A luncheon will follow. A graveside service will be private.
