Ina Kate Mitchell, loving wife and mother, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Green Hills Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Mossy Grove Cemetery.
A native of Pike County, Ina Kate grew up picking cotton in her childhood and worked in the shirt factory as a seamstress. She was a devoted church member who loved the Lord. Mrs. Mitchell loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She greeted you with a smile and was a friend to all, and everyone enjoyed the mouth-watering cooking she was famous for. Her quick wit and her stories will be missed by all who knew her.
Loving survivors include her beloved husband of 70 years, James Mitchell; son, Kim Mitchell (Deanna); grandchildren, Brooke Sheffield (Miles), Raven Mitchell, Nicole Sanders (John), Jeff Mitchell (Laura); 9 great grandchildren; her siblings, Judy Birchfield, Randy Stewart; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons, Keith Mitchell and Gavin Mitchell; parents, Bob Wesley & Elma Stewart; and 7 siblings.
