Inez Crowley Elliott, 98, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, August 3, 2024, at Royal Retreat Assisted Living in Memphis. She was born June 28, 1926, she is the daughter of the late Samuel and Lelia Crowley.
After high school graduation, she earned her R.N. degree from Mid-State Baptist Hospital Nursing School in Nashville TN. After completing her degree and marriage to Joe Elliott, she moved to Memphis TN and began her career as an orthopedic nurse for Campbell Clinic at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
She was loving and devoted mother who instilled Christian values. The doors to our home were always open to any family and friends in need. She encouraged her daughters to follow her love of the healthcare field enabling them to care for others and themselves.
Inez was an active member of McClean Baptist Church and later Ridgeway Baptist church.
Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Joe T. Elliott, her 2 sisters Elizabeth Crowley Rainey and Irma Crowley Owens, her niece Juanita Rohrer, her grandnephew Joey Owens. She is survived by her children, Andrea Elliott and Sandra James (Rodney), her nephews Joe Owens (Carolyn), Joe Elliott and John Elliott, her grandnieces Janet Puck (Tom) and Lisa Deming. The family would like to thank the management and staff of Royal Retreat for the love and compassion they gave to Inez. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
