Inez E. Larsen

Inez Eva Larsen (92) passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the Trinity Center of Luther Park in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 16 at Iles Funeral Home - Dunn's Chapel. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. A private, family burial will take place at a later time. Inez was born June 14, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Eva (Smith) and Ralph Phillips.
On December 18, 1954, she married Norman Larsen in Des Moines. Inez worked in the dry-cleaning business, both at French Way Cleaners and Skeffington's Formal Wear. In 1997, they moved to Princeton, MO, and in 2015, she returned to Des Moines. Inez is survived by her two sons, Edward (Pamela) of Ankeny, IA and LeRoy (Beverly) of Brooklyn, IA; three grandchildren, Cory of Des Moines, Elizabeth (Ryan) of Golden Valley, MN and Drew (Jessica) of N. Hollywood, CA, one great granddaughter (Poppy) and many, many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Inez was preceded in death by her parents and brothers (Ralph, Bob and Jack) and sisters (Helen Phillips, Lucy Hutchison, Pearl Helsper, Grace White and LaVetta Squires).
Inez was known for her red hair (fondly called "Aunt Red" by most), her quick wit, her joy of family, her love of all types of dancing and music, and her faith in God. Memorial contributions are encouraged to be directed to Luther Park Community (for General Resident Care), 1555 Hull Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50316.
