Stuart Florida - Ingrid M Husek died peacefully at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, FL on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 2:19AM. She was 86 years old. Throughout the week leading up to her passing, she was with her three children and spoke to all her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Ingrid was born on February 12, 1939, in Munich, Germany to the late Henry and Barbara "Betty" Seissler and grew up in Queens. Ingrid graduated from Dominican Commercial High School, Jamaica, Queens, in 1957, and worked in New York City. She married John J. Husek on May 18, 1963, and had three children, living in Ozone Park before moving to Valley Stream in 1990, and eventually to East Meadow Knolls in 2014.

After retirement, Ingrid and John were snowbirds leaving right after the holidays to spend the winters in Florida every year. They first went to North Miami and eventually settled at South River in Stuart, Florida. Ingrid eventually decided to stay in Florida full time starting in 2020. Even as she started to decline, she didn't want to move back to NY. She loved Florida and looking at the palm trees.

Ingrid worked at Union Carbide after graduating high school, worked at Stanley Home Products, was a crew leader for the 1990 census, worked in the Aqueduct Flea Market for many years, and, finally, Euromatic Equipment Inc. where she was Office Manager. She retired in 2005, but freelanced there during the summers for a few years thereafter.

Ingrid enjoyed playing tennis, playing cards, swimming, and organizing family reunions. Ingrid was an active member of the South River events committee, participating in organizing picnics, card games such as 3 13, which she started at South River, and other events. She loved getting together with her South River community.

Ingrid was a devout Roman Catholic and attended mass at St. Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church in Ozone Park, St. Boniface in Valley Stream, NY, St. Andrew Catholic Church in Stuart, FL, and St. Raphael Catholic Parish in East Meadow, NY.

Ingrid was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband John and her three sisters, Elizabeth Deak, Dorothy Mangione, and Barbara Ross. She is survived by her beloved children John H. Husek, Christine Husek Cuttitta and her husband Dominick, and David J. Husek. She is also survived by her three grandchildren Emily Husek, Julia and Tyler Cuttitta, who were her greatest joys. She also has many beloved nieces, nephews, godchildren and other relatives, as well as friends. A wake and funeral will be organized once her remains are sent from Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabietes Foundation https://diabetes.org/ways-to-contribute, Good Days Foundation at https://mygooddays.org/donate/ and the American Kidney Fund https://www.kidneyfund.org/ .
