Mrs. Inzer S. Winslett, age 86, of Douglasville, GA, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012. She was born July 23, 1926 in Douglasville, GA daughter of the late John William Shadix and Clara Wright Shadix. She was also preceded in death by her husband Byron E. 'Gene' Winslett; sister, Doris Smith; brother, John William Shadix, Jr., and sister, Totsy Jo Shadix. Mrs. Winslett was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, an avid gardener, enjoyed flower arranging, and many other crafts. Mrs. Winslett was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Steven Eugene Winslett and wife Ines of Cairo, GA, Ivan Jerry Winslett and wife Rosalind of Douglasville, GA, Nathan Lee Winslett of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Brian Winslett, Scott McKee, Tina Brinson and husband Eddie, Ginger Davis Ciuperca, Jacob Winslett and wife Laurie, Michael Winslett and wife Melia, Jennifer Mozley and husband Dustin; great-grandchildren, Davis, Sadia, Eliot, Braeden Gene; brother, Tommy Allen Shadix and wife Paulette of Pleasant View, TN; sisters, Betty Jean Plowman of Douglasville, GA, Lafeise Edwards and husband Jerry of Douglasville, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 5-8 PM. The funeral service will be Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Rev. Charles Gibbs and Dr. Thom Shores officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
