Iola “Sue” Kelley Jackson, 87, of Canton passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Haywood County, she grew up in Morning Star United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late Robert Roy and Lillie Mae Smathers Kelley. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Jackson on August 1, 2020.
A graduate of Bethel High School, Sue was a registered nurse, working in many hospitals including, Haywood, Shelby and Winston-Salem. She retired as a Title 1 school nurse for the Virginia School System. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waynesville.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by her sons, Bobby Jackson, Jr. of Asheville and Charles Jackson and his wife, Mary Beth of Hendersonville, TN and three grandchildren, Elisabeth, Lily and Carson Jackson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at The Horizon at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dr. Keith Turman officiating.
The care of Mrs. Jackson has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes Canton.
